Lifting hook
An RTG crane is used for stacking containers. It has a gantry frame, power systems, lifting gear, and a telescopic spreader to handle 20ft and 40ft containers. Key features:
Fixed guide plates and anti-sway devices for stability.
Small-angle rotation for easy container alignment.
Rubber tires allow 90° turns to move between yards.
Standard span: 23.47m (6 rows + walkway), but custom spans are available.
Lifts a 9’6” high 40ft container over 4-6 stacked layers.
Diesel-Electric: Diesel powers a generator, which runs electric motors. Uses AC/DC frequency control for smooth speed changes. Now, AC frequency control is common due to simpler maintenance.
Diesel-Hydraulic: Diesel runs hydraulic pumps to drive motors. Faster acceleration but prone to leaks; less used.
Hybrid RTGs (Oil-to-Electric Conversion):
Many ports now use RTGs with both grid power and diesel. During stacking, they use grid power to cut emissions. For moving, they switch to diesel.
Main Beam: Box-type steel, with rails for the trolley (center or offset).
Legs: Box-shaped, with space for electrical rooms. Cross-braced for stability.
Base Beam: Connects to wheels with pins and shear blocks.
Rails are bolted or welded to the beam. Rubber pads reduce shock. Some use seamless welded rails for strength.
Steel frame with walkways and platforms for maintenance.
Wheels: 4–16 large, tubeless tires (18.00–25 size, 28–40 ply).
Drive: Motors power chains/sprockets to turn wheels. Adjustable for chain tension.
Steering: 90° turns on steel plates. Some RTGs lift wheels to reduce tire wear.
Anti-Collision: Manual correction or automatic systems (e.g., cameras, sensors).
Wheel Drive: Friction-based; may slip in rain (4-wheel drive avoids this).
Rack Drive: Gear-and-rack system for precise movement but needs careful alignment.
Motor + Gearbox: Parallel or vertical layout. Brakes and encoders for control.
Includes fuel tanks, pumps, and cooling. High-mounted tanks ensure steady fuel flow.
Glass walls for visibility. Has AC, safety grids, and controls. Safety features: overload protection, emergency stops, and wind sensors.
✔ Strong build – Meets ISO, FEM, DIN standards.
✔ Smart controls – PLC + remote monitoring.
✔ Flexible setups – Custom capacity/span.
✔ Top-quality parts – Siemens, Schneider, SEW, and trusted Chinese brands.
Best for: Ports, logistics yards needing mobility, reliability, and cost savings.
The trolley structure keeps the frame light but strong.
Made of welded steel (Q235B/Q345B) for heavy-duty use.
Rubber tires allow flexible movement on uneven ground (slope tolerance: <1–3%).
Separate drives and frequency control ensure smooth operation.
Precise spreader handles ISO containers (optional twin-lift).
Main power: Cable drum/slide wire (380V, 50Hz AC).
Backup diesel generator for power cuts or moving between yards.
Schneider/Siemens PLC + frequency drives for accurate speed control.
Remote Monitoring (RCMS) for real-time checks and control.
F-class motors (Jiamusi, ABM, or SEW) work in harsh conditions (-20°C to +45°C).
Vacuum-cast wheels: Low upkeep, high efficiency.
Forged steel hooks and strong winches (A6-A7 duty class).
Tough rubber tires with protectors for long life.
Handles wind up to 20 m/s; survives 44 m/s when parked.
Works in high humidity (up to 95% with dew).
Custom designs available.
Less downtime with dual power.
Energy-saving drives cut costs.
Modular design makes repairs easy.
RTG cranes move and stack ISO containers. They work well because:
Strong performance: High efficiency, good mobility, and less affected by rough ground.
Diesel power: Heated fuel and hydraulic systems work in cold weather.
Safety: Overload protection and alarms keep workers and equipment safe.
Smart control: PLC and frequency control for smooth operation.
Quality parts: Uses top Chinese and international brands.
Standards: Meets DIN, FEM, IEC, AWS, and national standards.
Better operation: Anti-sway tech, improved cab view, and easy controls.
Easy maintenance: New platforms and relocated parts make service faster.
Cloud connected: Remote monitoring and support from service teams.
Standard span: 23.47m (6 container rows + 1 truck lane) or 26.5m (7+1).
Wide span: Some ports use extra-wide RTGs to save more space.
Main job: Move, stack, load, and unload ISO containers.
Why RTG works well: Rubber tires let it move freely between stacks. No rails are needed.
Train to truck transfer: Move containers between trains and trucks fast.
Distribution centers: Handle heavy loads (A6-A7 duty) without slowing down.
Space-saving: Stack 4-5 high to fit more containers in small yards.
Works in all weather: Runs in -20°C to +45°C and 95% humidity.
Backup power: Diesel generator keeps working during power cuts.
Uneven ground: Moves safely on slopes up to 3%.
Heavy loads: Carries big containers for cars, steel, and machines.
Custom setups: Twin-lift spreaders move two containers at once.
No fixed tracks: Good for pop-up yards or emergency jobs.
Easy to move: Rubber tires let it go where needed fast.
